Official Advertising Representative for the NAB Show – NewBay Media

January 23, 2009

Dear NAB Show Exhibitor:

When making your advertising plans for the 2009 NAB Show, remember there is only one official convention newspaper: the NAB Show Daily News.

NAB has granted NewBay Media, the publisher of TV Technology, Radio World, Videography, DV Magazine and Pro Sound News, the exclusive rights to publish the NAB Show Daily News.

You may be contacted by Oser Communications regarding a “Show Daily” publication for the NAB Show. Please note that Oser is neither an NAB vendor nor affiliated with NAB in any manner. Further, Oser has not obtained the same distribution rights as NAB for important venues such as the LVCC, the Hilton and other official NAB hotels.

If a third party contacts you regarding advertising related to the NAB Show, simply ask them if they are an official NAB vendor or affiliated with NAB. Contact NAB for confirmation on all official vendors and/or partners if you have any concerns.

If your intention is to advertise in the NAB Show Daily News, the only show daily with distribution to all NAB venues, make sure you place your ad with a representative from NewBay Media.

For more information on NAB Show Daily News advertising opportunities, contact Michele Inderrieden of NewBay Media at (301) 870-9840 (phone), (301) 645-8090 (fax), or minderrieden@nbmedia.com. And as always, please feel free to contact NAB at (202) 429-5426 or advertising@nab.org with any questions or information on additional opportunities at NAB.

Sincerely,

David J. Dziedzic

P.S.: NewBay Media is also the official advertising representative for the NAB Show Program & Exhibit Guide, which features detailed listings for all 1,600+ exhibitors, plus conference schedules, session descriptions and special events. Buy a half-page or larger ad in the Guide and get a FREE Product Spotlight in the NAB Show Daily News Digital Preview edition. Ask your NewBay Media sales representative for more information.

Are you wearing too many hats?? If so, then NAB’s tools can help you connect with potential clients.

For many smaller companies, the exhibit manager may also be wearing the marketing and sales hats too.  If that’s you, then here are some tips.

As you know it is crucial to your trade show’s success to reach attendees prior to the show as well as to set up meetings in advance.  There are a number of tools that NAB offers exhibitors to connect with attendees – market their products and services and set up meetings.  eventLeads (formerly SmartBooth) is one great tool with intelligent matching, online introductions and networking.  The purchase of attendee lists for direct mail/email is another.  The exhibitor webinars also offer suggestions.  And there are always your own guerrilla and viral methods.  However you do it – do it.  Don’t just hope to catch the fish that happen to swim by.

So in your pre-planning, include a budget amount - as well as time – to target your potentials however you feel is most effective.  It will make the rest of your significant investment of time and money – worth it.
